One of the many great things about White Propertie are the employees who work here! We are a knowlegable and fun team, who believe that our customers always come first! We also believe that the people who work here, really make a difference. That is why starting this month, and each month, we will highlight one of our employees. We want YOU, our customers, to get to know us better!
First up is, Sharon Herndon!
Sharon was born in Leesburg Virginia and moved to Shenandoah County when she was just 5 years old. She grew up on a small farm where she fondly remembers helping to take care of cows, pigs, chickens, and lots of dogs. Sharon graduated from Strasburg High School and eventually settled in Clark County with her husband of 26 years on…. you guessed it, a farm. When it comes to family, she describes it as a mix of his, mine, and ours. Between the two of them, Sharon and her husband have three sons and two daughters. Their now grown children are dispersed between Ohio, Florida, West Virginia, and Virgina. They also have three grandchildren in Ohio, who Sharon says she doesn’t get to see nearly as much as she would like, but enjoys calls with them often.
Asked some questions, here’s what Sharon had to say:
Q: What is your position at WP?
A: I am the Storage Manager for Storage Solutions and Office Manager.
Q: What do you like most about WP?
A: Throughout the years I’ve grown with this company and have had the opportunity to learn different skill and all aspects of the company. It’s allowed me to learn various roles and move up to the position I am currently in. Willis and Noah have always been great to work for and with. When my children were small and even as they grew, if they were sick or had sporting events, or really anything for that matter, they were always willing to work with me. Willis and Noah have always believed that family comes first. I also like the fact that they offer the opportunity to better yourself through educational courses or classes each year.
Q: What do you find most challenging about your position?
A: WP is always growing! It’s sometimes challenging to not get overwhelmed and to stay on top with the growth and changes. Knowing that I have the support I need from the top, Willis and Noah, as well as my co-workers, gives me the confidence needed as we grow and move forward.
Q: What do you do for fun outside of WP?
A: I like going to watch the Washington Nationals play ball. I also hope to travel more.
Q: What’s a funny memory you have working at WP over the years?
A: I’d have to say it was when an un-named co-worker bent over and split their pants, thank goodness I wasn’t behind said co-worker. Also very thankkful we have WP apron’s and the co-worker was able to wear it backwords for the rest of the workday, everyone was thankful.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: Oh gosh, I have several. I love Chhristmas movies. All of the Santa Clause movies with Tim Allen. I also like all of the Nicholas Sparks movies.
Q: What are you most thankkful for:
A: That’s easy, my kids. They have always been my life and made my life so enjoyable. I feel I’ve been successful in raising them and have enjoyed all aspects of watching them grow into the young adulds they are today.
Q: What three traits define you?
A: I would say, I’m loving, I’m a happy person and I’m loyal.
